Friday My Town Shoot Out : Historic

Motat, The Museum of Transport and Technology (MOTAT) is a museum located in Western Springs, Auckland, New Zealand.

MOTAT opened in 1964 and is the largest museum of transport, technology and social history in New Zealand, housing a number of outstanding collections. Encompassing 40 acres, on two sites, it presents a fascinating and informative record of many of the technological developments that have helped shape New Zealand. Major collections include Road Transport, Early Auckland, Primary Industries, Medical and Dental and Pioneers of Aviation. MOTAT is also proud to have a working Tram Section, and a large aviation collection including a Lancaster bomber and a Solent flying boat.

It shows Auckland in the 1880s, the tram still works as a tourist attraction.

MOTAT is really worth to visit.
Thanks for dropping by, Ann.
I don't have a diamond ring, mine is a simple gold one; without any gemstone.

I love museums of any kind. That is where you can find all the things in one place that tell the story. My town is so old and so full of history I could not put it all in. We have a railroad museum here and there are all kinds of activities done there. Dramas and plays are staged and mock train robberies are held. Fake guns popping and so forth it is a lot of fun.

Cool post, Ann. I almost did a similar one about the Airplane museum in Trenton, Ontario. :)
